Globally, out of every 10 deaths, 6 are due to non-communicable conditions; 3 to communicable, reproductive or nutritional conditions; and 1 to injuries.

Group 1 diseases, that include communicable, maternal, perinatal & nutritional conditions, accounted for 29.9% and 31.4% of all causes of death for male and female respectively. Group 2 diseases, that include non-communicable diseases, accounted for 57.9% and 61.5% of all causes of death for male and female respectively. Group 3 diseases, that include injuries, accounted for 12.3% and 7.1% of all causes of death for male and female respectively.
