To keep the momentum and synergy gained in the WHO Regional Forum on Protecting Young People from the Harmful Use of Alcohol in April 2016, the Department of Health is looking for more powerful and appropriate channels to convey its message to wider audience with a view to protecting young people from alcohol-related harm. Being part and parcel of daily living nowadays, social media have a broad reach into young people’s lives, and are likely to have impact on their decisions and drinking behaviours. In this regard, the Department of Health convened a brainstorming meeting with 14 local participants, who took part in the Regional Forum, to discuss on how social media marketing strategies can reveal the truth of alcohol harm in July.

Attending parties include Kely Support Group, the Hong Kong Federation of Youth Groups, the United Christian Nethersole Community Health Service and the Tung Wah Group of Hospitals
