What is RSS

RSS stands for "Really Simple Syndication". It is an XML-based format for distributing and gathering headlines and summaries of latest web contents from various sources across the Internet. In the RSS content, it contains the following information:-

  • headlines of the new web contents
  • summaries of the new web contents
  • links to the full stories

In general, RSS feeds are often denoted by a RSS icon.

The advantages for web surfers to use RSS are convenient, timesaving and having full control over receiving the information you desired to read. Instead of visiting various favourite websites to check if there are any news or updates, the headlines and summaries of latest web contents from these websites will directly feed into your RSS reader / web-based RSS browser daily or whenever you want. If you want to read more on a particular new web content, you can click the link to read the full story.

How can I subscribe RSS Feeds?
