Regularised Walking Challenge under the “10,000 Steps a Day” Campaign
Event Overview
- Hong Kong's inaugural Action Plan on Weight Management was launched on 4 March 2026. Under the Action Plan, the Department of Health (DH) has regularised the Walking Challenge under “10,000 Steps a Day” Campaign” (Walking Challenge) from 21 March 2026 onwards.
- The Walking Challenge aims to raise awareness of the health benefits of walking, encourage the public to walk 10,000 steps a day to boost daily physical activity, and maintain a healthy body weight when combined with a balanced diet.
- With the slogan "Step up to 10,000! Spark joy in every movement!", the Walking Challenge gamifies physical activity and makes it an enjoyable habit. The public can complete various missions on the "e+ Life" platform, synchronise step records, earn health coins, and redeem gifts.
