Hong Kong Red Cross School Health Ambassador Program

The Department of Health held one training session in School of Nursing, St. Teresa‘s Hospital on the topic of “ Young and Alcohol Free”. 50 nursing students and Hong Kong Red Cross Staff participated in the training would be the speakers of “ Young and Alcohol Free” Health Talk under 2018-2019 School Health Ambassadors Program.

School Health Ambassador Program of Hong Kong Red Cross aims  to advocate trained school health ambassadors to provide health education in schools to arouse the health awareness among students and teachers. 2018-2019 School Health Ambassador Program especially added “ Young and Alcohol Free” as one of the program themes. There were 162 schools (138 Secondary School and 24 Primary school) enrolled in School Health Ambassadors Program.

The participated schools would launch health stations to provide health information and interactive games for teachers, parents and students. The school health ambassadors in each participating school would promulgate the messages of “ Young and Alcohol Free” and alcohol-related harms with health educational materials.
